it was an impromptu decision. As we walked down from plaza sing towards centrepoint, we were at ps to check out the new Carrefour, we decided to visit the Istana since there's the Istana Open House every public holiday. The Istana is the official residence of The President of Spore, Mr SR Nathan. The queue isn't too bad either, so we decided to visit it. The first ever visit for the both of us. By us, i meant mb and I. :) It was an eye opener..I got a little excited but unfortunately we don't have a
camera with us to freeze the memories. All visitors had to be scanned before entering the Istana grounds, which caused a bit of delay and longer waiting time.
We were greeted with luscious greenery as we stepped in. The trees and the grass are very well taken care of. But of course. As we walked across the vast field towards the Istana, a pond with 2 beautiful swans gliding, made the visitors coo-ed and aah-ed and what next? Cameras of all sorts, start clicking. Had to take pic for one group of girls. Too bad we don't have a camera with us. Before I left home, I thought I wanted to ask mb to bring his digicam. Perhaps I had a hunch about this visit, but unfortunately I didn't get round to doing it...It was a 15minutes stroll up the slope before we finally reached the target. Along the way, there were band performances and charity drives. For an entrance fee of $2, members of the public were allowed to view the Staterooms in the Istana Building. We went for it. There was a display of selected gifts from different nations. There was also a fountain in the garden of the Istana. and golf course..

After the visit, we went on our window shopping rendezvous at where else, but orchard. Another new activity (istana visit) with mb today.. :)
