I was so looking forward to this weekend for I'd finally set foot in the city, having been there last in 1989. Yes, it was
That long.
I was 12.
Due to the unfortunate catastrophe, and given my mild asthmatic condition which may aggravate into chronic due to the very bad weather condition, we thought it'd be best to shelve the plan. And so, we called the tour agency that we booked the F&E package from to ask if there'll be any cancellation charges imposed, if so we decide to cancel the trip. The Reply:
Yes. Yes? Not so fast. Not before I checked with the hotel directly. And so I called the hotel to enquire if there is going to be any cancellation charges. The Reply:
Another Yes. Oh great. I requested to speak to the manager. He said "hold on, i'll put you through" and then un deux trois, the call was dropped.
Grrrrr. Very GrrrrHow absurd can this get? A state of emergency has been declared by the nation, schools are closed, people are advised to stay indoors, hence tourists are not encouraged to set foot in this city and its affected areas yet cancellation charges are not going to be waived?
I have been so looking forward to this trip. Canceling the trip makes the most sense given the warnings and the state the city is in yet cancellation charges are still going to be imposed, no waivers? Hey this is not fair! Utterly ridiculous!
Till then, KL.
