What's cooking last weekend? It's the all-time favourite asam pedas but in the boyanese way ie with ikan tongkol(tuna) instead of ikan pari(stingray) and the likes..having asam pedas with ikan tongkol is not the preference of many i know but tt's the fish i grew up with..hehe..as in mom feeds us ikan tongkol most often than any other fishes.... ikan tongkol is always associated with the boyanese, yes?
my paternal and maternal grandparents were immigrants from the boyanese island in indonesia..but my parents were born here tho' in Singapore... :)
so my kampung is in bawean island, indonesia..
mom's eldest sis is still there (from grandpa's 1st marriage) and so are my cousins....
today's my last bayar puasa day (hard core procrastinator), before ramadhan this year begins on Wed...
mindless ramblings on a monday morning, to beat the mon blues away (as if).. :P
