"...Randy wanted to thank those of you who have read the book and embraced some of the lessons in it. The first three copies of the book are the ones that mattered most to him - those are put away for Dylan, Logan, and Chloe -- but if you and your children are finding some worthwhile things within the pages of “The Last Lecture,” well, please know that he was greatly touched and honored. — JZ" from www.thelastlecture.com (http://www.thelastlecture.com/extras_ack.htm)
I read this bestseller and watched his 1-hr lecture on you tube a few months back. And I definitely found a lot of worthwhile things within the pages of the book and during the talk. Things I'd like to apply to my own life, to my own child(ren).Important lessons in life from a highly effective person.
I've just returned from the 7 habits course and he was one of the highly effective individuals featured. His 10-minutes (a summary version of the original 1-hr tt he did at carnegie mellon) talk on Oprah was showed to the whole class. At the end of the talk, just as I had felt the 2 times after i read his book and after i watched his 1-hr talk, I felt so choked and teared yet again at the very last part. It's really touching, really sad yet extremely meaningful at the same time. Truly inspiring, this legacy that he left behind.
Here's the shortened 10-minutes talk that he gave at Oprah's.
